During the winter we wrote email to the original home of Hamburg VII, Hamburgischer Verein Seefahrt. Torsten Hilbert wrote immediately back to us and promised to find whatever he could related the history of Hamburg VII. Last week we received mail from Germany. There was a very kind letter from Torsten, a book about the history of HVS and pictures of Hamburg VII.

From the pictures and the book one gets an idea of the hundreds of men and women who have sailed with Hamu before us. During the first 7 years she sailed about 100 000 nautical miles. This is the equivalent of more than 4 rounds around the earth and on average 40 miles per day.
